OnlyFans alternatives in 2026: an honest comparison of creator platforms
OnlyFans vs Fansly vs Fanvue vs SHEDANX: revenue splits, discovery, live streaming, payouts and support compared – and how to choose the right platform for your creator business.

OnlyFans made subscription content mainstream. But it's no longer the only option – and for many creators, it's no longer the best one. New platforms compete on revenue split, discovery, features and support.
This guide compares the best-known options side by side: OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue and SHEDANX. It explains what actually matters when choosing, and when it makes sense to switch – or to run two platforms at once.
Full disclosure: SHEDANX is our platform, so we're not neutral. We've stuck to publicly available facts about other platforms as of October 2026. Terms change – always check each platform's current conditions before you decide.
The short version
| OnlyFans | Fansly | Fanvue | SHEDANX | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Creator share | 80 % | 80 % | 85 % in year one, then 80 % | 85 %, founders 90 % for life |
| Guaranteed floor | – | – | – | Never below 80 % |
| Discovery inside the platform | Very limited – mostly external traffic | For You feed | Discover feed | For You feed + swipe Discover |
| Based in | UK | USA | UK | Berlin, Germany |
What actually matters when choosing a platform
1. How much you keep – over years, not months
The revenue split is the single biggest factor in what you take home. OnlyFans and Fansly take 20 %. Fanvue takes 15 % in your first year, then 20 %. SHEDANX takes 15 % as standard – and creators who join during the founder phase keep 90 % for life.
The difference adds up. On €3,000 a month:
| Split | You keep per month | You keep per year |
|---|---|---|
| 80/20 | €2,400 | €28,800 |
| 85/15 | €2,550 | €30,600 |
| 90/10 | €2,700 | €32,400 |
Example before taxes and payment fees.
Pay attention to how long a split lasts. An introductory rate that drops after twelve months is worth less than a rate that's yours permanently.
2. Will the platform bring you new fans?
On OnlyFans, almost all discovery happens outside the platform: creators drive traffic from Instagram, TikTok, X and Reddit. If those accounts get restricted, growth stops.
Platforms with internal discovery let fans who are already on the platform find you. Fansly and SHEDANX both have a For You feed. SHEDANX adds Discover, where fans swipe through creators and follow with a swipe to the right – for free, so following you is a zero-risk first step.
3. How many ways can you earn?
Subscriptions are the base, but most income for established creators comes from everything else. Look for:
- Paid messages with previews, and mass messages to segments of your audience
- One-off sets fans can buy without subscribing
- A shop for digital and personal items
- Live streams with tips and tickets
- Tools that save time – knowing who bought what, without spreadsheets
4. Live streaming on your terms
Most platforms let you go live. The question is how much control you get. On SHEDANX, you decide before every stream who can watch: everyone, members only, a set number of seats, or a private 1:1. Seats are first come, first served and enforced on the server – when someone leaves, their seat really frees up. No OBS or extra software needed.
5. Safety, privacy and verification
- Are creators verified with an ID and age check?
- Is paid content protected from simple link sharing?
- Can fans stay anonymous?
- Are there privacy tools like geo-blocking?
6. Support you can actually reach
When a payout is late or a fan crosses a line, you want a real person – ideally in your language and time zone. Big platforms are notorious for slow, templated support.
7. Payouts and paperwork
How fast and how easily you get your money matters, especially as your business grows. Check payout methods, minimums and how clearly transactions are documented for your taxes.
Platform by platform
OnlyFans
The biggest and best-known platform, with the most fans already holding an account. That brand recognition is its main advantage. On the downside: creators keep 80 %, there's very little discovery inside the platform, and creators depend on outside social media for growth.
Good for: creators with a large existing audience on other platforms.
Fansly
Popular with creators who want in-platform discovery: its For You feed helps fans find new creators, and creators can set up multiple subscription tiers. The split is 80/20, like OnlyFans.
Good for: creators who want discovery and like tiered subscriptions.
Fanvue
A UK platform that has grown fast, with a strong focus on AI tools for creators, and a 15 % fee in the first year before it moves to 20 %.
Good for: creators who want AI-assisted tools and a lower fee in their first year.
SHEDANX
Our platform, built in Berlin and live since October 2026. Here's what we do differently:
- 85/15 for everyone, 90/10 for life for founders – and a guarantee that terms will never be worse than 80/20.
- For You feed and Discover bring new fans from inside the platform.
- Everything in one profile: subscriptions (€4.99–€99.99), VIP sets, your own shop, Spice Market auctions and live event tickets.
- A chat that earns: paid messages from €1 to €500 with blurred previews, mass messages to all followers or only subscribers – optionally skipping fans who already have the file – and a media vault that shows who got and paid for every file.
- Live on your terms: everyone, members only, limited seats or private 1:1, with live chat and tips.
- Protected media: paid files are only delivered through signed, per-viewer links that expire.
- Verification: every creator application reviewed by hand; ID and age check before the first payout.
- European standards: a Berlin company, GDPR-grade data protection, support in German and English from real people.
- Partner programme paid from our share – creators referred by partners pay nothing extra.
What's not there yet, to be transparent: a one-click tax report, geo-blocking, custom orders with escrow and video calls are on the roadmap but not live yet. And as a new platform, SHEDANX has fewer fans than OnlyFans today – which is exactly why early creators get the founder deal.
Good for: creators who want to keep more of their income, value a personal team in Europe, and want subscriptions, chat sales, shop and live streams in one place.
Should you switch – or run two platforms?
You don't have to choose just one. Many creators run two platforms in parallel:
- Keep your existing platform while you build on the new one.
- Tell your fans where else they can find you – and give them a reason to follow (exclusive sets, live streams, a better price).
- Compare after three months: where do you earn more per fan, and where is it easier to work?
Moving to a platform with a better split while your audience is still growing means every future fan earns you more.
How to choose: a checklist
- What percentage do I keep – and for how long?
- Does the platform bring me new fans, or only host the ones I bring?
- Can I sell more than subscriptions: messages, sets, shop, live?
- How much control do I have over live streams?
- Are creators verified and is paid content protected?
- Can I reach real support in my language?
- How do payouts work, and is every transaction documented?
